Week 2 DPS Rankings for the Venomous Abyss
Two weeks of logs is enough to stop guessing. The rankings below are split by encounter profile rather than a single overall list, because that is how specs actually perform — being top of one chart and bottom of another is normal this tier.
Mythic Entombed Sentinels — spread two-target cleave
The third boss and the first Mythic encounter with a genuinely tight damage check. The bosses cannot be tanked together and have to die at the same time, and part of the check depends on how fast you clear the numbers game with Helical Toxins.
Top five: Destruction Warlock, Shadow Priest, Demonology Warlock, Balance Druid, Affliction Warlock.
Destruction wins comfortably because Havoc lets it cleave both bosses while they are spread apart — something most specs simply cannot do. Shadow Priest and Balance Druid have always handled spread cleave well and they do here too.
Sszorak — pure single target
The only pure single-target fight in the raid, with 30% damage amplification windows at 1:40, 3:47 and 5:54. Fewer than 100 guilds have killed it on Mythic, so the Mythic data is thin and the Heroic chart is the more reliable read.
Heroic top five: Subtlety Rogue, Outlaw Rogue, Marksmanship Hunter, Assassination Rogue, Retribution Paladin.
Mythic top five: Marksmanship Hunter, Outlaw Rogue, Subtlety Rogue, Elemental Shaman, Retribution Paladin.
Twin Fangs — stacked two-target cleave
The closest thing in the raid to constant two-target cleave from start to finish, with some spread damage from the middle adds. Only 18 guilds have killed it on Mythic, so these are the Heroic numbers.
Top five: Arms Warrior, Demonology Warlock, Destruction Warlock, Arcane Mage, Devastation Evoker.
Arms wins here by a large margin. Both Warlock specs appearing again after Entombed Sentinels is the clearest pattern in the data — if you play Warlock, this is a good tier for you. Arcane Mage and Devastation Evoker round it out on the strength of Arcane Missile cleave talents and Mass Disintegrate.
What these charts do not tell you
Two things worth holding onto. The Mythic sample sizes on the back half of the raid are small enough that rankings will shift as more guilds get kills. And parses are heavily gear-weighted this early — a lot of what looks like spec strength is item level.
The more useful question is usually not which spec tops a chart but why your own numbers sit where they do. That is almost always gear or execution, and both are fixable without rerolling.
