The Weekly Reset Brought a Wide Nerf Pass
A broad pass landed with the weekly reset, and the theme is clear: smaller raid groups got the most relief. If your roster has been scraping together eighteen people on a Tuesday, several of these changes are aimed directly at you.
Heroic Coiled Altar
The headline change is not a damage number. Guillotine and Grim Guillotine now require 3 players to avoid the Execution, down from 5.
That five-player requirement was brutal for small groups. It created situations where a raid auto-wiped simply because it no longer had enough living bodies to fill the soak, or forced the tank to step in and eat it. Three is far more forgiving.
Alongside that: Volatile Venom damage down by up to 15% depending on raid size, Venom Rupture down by up to 15% the same way, and possible health cuts to Spiteful Soulcoiler and Zul'jan that were not confirmed at the time of writing.
Sszorak and the Raid Finder wing
Sszorak lost up to 10% health for smaller raid sizes on Normal and Heroic, and Raging Crosswinds now targets fewer players on both difficulties.
Raid Finder got a proper sweep: Nek'zali the Soulcoiler down 15% health, Breath and Blood of Ula'tek down 15%, Vexhul and Ithraz down 20%, and Eternal Venom's maximum-health effect reduced to 50%.
Nymrissa Wavecaller
The Tidebound Grotto boss has now been nerfed twice and is still a serious fight on Mythic. Frost Orb's damage-over-time now lasts 12 seconds instead of 16, with damage cut by up to 33% on Normal and Heroic at low group sizes and up to 17% on Mythic.
The standard Mythic approach — walking an immunity through the orbs so nobody takes the debuff at all — still beats taking reduced damage, so this mostly helps groups that do not have enough immunities to cover it.
Ravenous Feast now requires at least 4 players in each soak. The trick was to soak the first hit with the whole raid, then Blessing of Protection a single player to solo the last two. That is dead — groups now have to split as intended and take the extra damage.
The offset is Eternal Venom now killing at 10 stacks instead of 9. Across a full raid that is meaningful leeway for accidental stacks from swirlies, adds or wave rides, and it gives more room to cleave the middle adds.
One quiet nerf worth flagging
Buried in the same notes: trinkets no longer drop as abundantly in Delves. If Delves were your trinket route, that route just got slower. Mythic+ and the raid are now more clearly the intended sources.
Also: the Mythic Coiled Altar hotfixes that were pushed and reverted last week — the healing absorb and variance changes — appear to have gone in properly this time with the reset.
