The Serpent Warren Opens on LFR

Week three of Midnight Season 2 opens The Serpent Warren on Raid Finder difficulty. It is a short wing — two bosses, the Lost Explorers and Sszorak — but it is the most valuable one yet for anyone chasing a tier set.

Both bosses drop a tier token. Lost Explorers give shoulders, Sszorak gives legs.

The 4-set is closer than you think

Here is the maths for this week specifically. Every player has been handed a second Catalyst charge by default. Land one tier piece from this wing, hold at least 2,000 Mythic+ score, and you have everything you need to equip your 4-set.

That 2,000 rating requirement is where most people are actually stuck, not the tier tokens. Raid Finder hands you the pieces on a fairly forgiving difficulty — the score gate is the part that needs keys.

Lost Explorers loot

Errant Scrollsage's Hood (cloth helm), Unpossessed Skullsash (leather waist), Boots of the Reckless Wayfarer (mail feet), Shellbound Bracers (plate wrist), Malevolent Spiritcudgel (one-hand mace), Gebbo's Backup Blaster (gun), Venom-Slashed Scuteward (shield), First Mate's Shellward (tank trinket) and Gebbo's Bottomless Bag (trinket).

Shoulder tokens: Venomwoven, Venomcured, Venomcast and Venomforged Remnant for cloth, leather, mail and plate respectively.

Sszorak loot

Caustic Chain-Wrapped Sash (cloth waist), Ruthless Slaughtergrips (leather hands), Ferocious Scaleboots (mail feet), Venomous Boneglaive (one-hand warglaive), Slithering Savage's Gavel (one-hand mace), Apex Brute's Claw Ring, plus two trinkets: Sszorak's Ferocity and Idol of the Howling Nexus.

Leg tokens: Venomwoven, Venomcured, Venomcast and Venomforged Relic.

Worth the run?

Two bosses for two tier slots and two trinkets is a good rate of return for a Raid Finder wing. If you are gearing an alt, this is the single most efficient hour available to you this week.

The bottleneck stays the same for everyone: tier tokens are easy, 2,000 rating is not, and the 4-set does nothing until both halves land.
