TBC Lionheart Executioner Crafted on Your Character – BiS Pre-Raid 2H Sword
The Lionheart weapon chain is the gold standard for physical DPS two-handed weapons before raid loot enters the picture. Lionheart Blade, Lionheart Champion and Lionheart Executioner form a crafted upgrade line that starts at level 70 and ends with an item level 130 sword. The Executioner's stat line is simple: 365-549 damage, 3.60 speed, 52 Strength, 44 Agility, 8% fear resist and a chance on hit that grants 100 Strength for 10 seconds. For Arms Warriors and Retribution Paladins, this weapon beats every Phase 1 raid drop. It stays competitive until Twinblade of the Phoenix drops from Kael'thas in Tempest Keep. Most players keep the Executioner well into Phase 2 because the proc alone shifts so many fight timers.
The barrier is always specialization. You need Master Swordsmith to equip any of these weapons. That means Blacksmithing 375 plus the Swordsmith quest line. Most players do not want to drop a profession or grind a specialization just for one weapon chain.
